Canada’s Diversity Gardens – The Leaf

Project Journey

The Leaf at Canada’s Diversity Gardens (The Leaf) is an ambitious project located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The facility has a focus on worldwide horticulture, plants, and nature, showcasing four distinct biomes. It is a signature piece of architecture for Assiniboine Park, the City of Winnipeg, and Canada. The Leaf endeavours to promote a greater understanding and love of the botanical world and critical conservation issues rather than simply house an interesting plant collection.

Crosier Kilgour (operating as Integrated Designs) provided building commissioning services on this challenging project. The application of highly technical design solutions (ETFE envelope, open loop geothermal, natural ventilation/cooling strategies) made these services critical to the success of the project.
