Ecole Templeton School

Project Journey

École Templeton School, which opened in 2020, is a new kindergarten to Grade 5 French immersion school built in the Seven Oaks School Division. A 76-child daycare with a 40-student before- and after- school program was built into the building to allow for greater childcare access in the neighbourhood. With Seven Oaks School Division being one of the fastest-growing school divisions in Manitoba, the additional capacity of 600 students this school provides is an important addition to the community.

Crosier Kilgour’s team helped to ensure that sustainability was at the front of design considerations. The bright open spaces provide a quality learning environment for students, and special features such as a wall section cutout help to teach students about the materials housed within the building. The site landscaping, which includes treed spaces, native perennial beds, an outdoor classroom, ample bike storage, and large playing fields, is a valuable resource to students and the surrounding community. École Templeton School has been certified LEED Gold by the Canada Green Building Council.

Crosier Kilgour was proud to provide sustainability consulting and energy modelling services on this project.
